Payment & Checkout Policy

1. Placing an Order
Placing an order with Backyard At Ease is quick and secure. To complete your purchase:
- Add items to your shopping cart
- Select "Proceed to Checkout"
- Enter your shipping information
- Choose your preferred payment method
- Review your order and confirm purchase
2. Accepted Payment Methods
We currently accept the following payment options:
- Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover)
- Debit cards
- Google Pay
- Apple Pay
- PayPal
We do not accept cash, money orders, personal checks, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.
3. Currency
All prices on our website are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD). All charges will be processed in USD.
4. Payment Security & Processing
Security:
All transactions are encrypted and processed securely through Shopify Payments and other PCI-DSS compliant payment processors. We use industry-standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to protect your personal and financial information during transmission. We do not store your complete credit card information on our servers.
Payment Authorization:
Your payment method is authorized at the time you place your order. For most orders, the actual charge is processed when your order ships. For custom or made-to-order products, payment may be charged immediately upon order placement.
Payment Verification:
We reserve the right to verify payment information and may contact you to confirm order details before processing. Orders may be delayed or canceled if payment cannot be verified.
5. Sales Tax
Applicable sales tax will be automatically calculated and added to your order total at checkout based on your shipping address and local tax laws. Tax rates vary by state and locality.
6. Order Confirmation
Once your order is successfully placed, you will receive an order confirmation email sent to the email address you provided at checkout. This email confirms that we have received your order and includes:
- Order number
- Items purchased
- Shipping address
- Payment method
- Order total
Important: Receipt of an order confirmation email does not constitute acceptance of your order. Your order is not accepted until we send a shipping confirmation email.
7. Order Acceptance
Orders are not considered accepted until we send a shipping confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit orders at any time before shipment for reasons including:
- Payment verification issues or payment decline
- Suspected fraud or unauthorized transactions
- Product unavailability or inventory errors
- Pricing or product description errors
- Violation of our Terms of Service
- Restrictions on quantities available for purchase
If your order is canceled, you will be notified via email and any charges will be refunded to your original payment method.
8. Order Processing Time
Once your order is accepted, it will be processed according to the following timeline:
- Standard Items: 1-3 business days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays)
- Large Items (LTL Freight): 3-7 business days
- Custom or Made-to-Order Products: Extended processing times as noted on product pages
Orders placed before 3:00 PM EST on business days will typically begin processing the same day. Orders placed after 3:00 PM EST or on weekends/holidays will be processed on the next business day.
9. Shipping & Delivery
After your order has been processed, it will be shipped according to our Shipping Policy.
Estimated Delivery Times:
- Standard Shipping (Small Items): 5-10 business days after shipment
- LTL Freight Shipping (Large Items): 7-21 business days after shipment
Important Notes:
- Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed
- Actual delivery times may vary depending on location, carrier conditions, weather, or other factors beyond our control
- You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once your order ships

10. Pricing Errors
We make every effort to ensure pricing accuracy, but errors may occur. If we discover a pricing error after you place an order:
- We will contact you via email or phone to inform you of the error
- You will have the option to accept the correct price or cancel your order for a full refund
- If we cannot reach you, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund
We are not obligated to honor orders placed with incorrect pricing, even after an order confirmation email has been sent.
11. Payment Declined or Failed
If your payment is declined or fails to process:
- Your order will not be processed or shipped
- You will receive an email notification
- You may attempt to place the order again using a valid payment method
- Please contact your bank or card issuer if you believe the decline was in error
- Any authorization hold on a declined payment is typically released within 3–5 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer
12. Order Changes and Cancellations
Before Shipment:
If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us immediately:

We will do our best to accommodate changes or cancellations if the order has not yet shipped. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be changed or canceled and must be returned according to our Return & Refund Policy.
Custom and Made-to-Order Products:
Cannot be changed or canceled once production has begun, as these items enter production immediately after purchase.
13. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
If you have concerns about a charge on your account, please contact us directly at support@backyardatease.com or +1 (270) 770-3553 before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company.
Most issues can be resolved quickly through direct communication with our customer service team. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us first may result in:
- Delays in resolving your issue
- Additional review by payment processors
- Temporary suspension of order processing while the dispute is investigated

14. Refunds
Refunds are processed according to our Return & Refund Policy. Key points:
- Returns accepted within 14 days of delivery
- Items must be unused, undamaged, and in original packaging
- 25% restocking fee applies to change-of-mind returns
- Return shipping covered by Backyard At Ease for defective or damaged items
- Refunds processed within 14 days after inspection
- Refunds issued to original payment method
